Kia ora,
Ko Gio toku ingoa,
No reira tena koutou, tena koutou, tena koutou katou
Hi my name is Giovanni but you can call me Gio. I am 11 years old and go to Havelock north Intermediate.I love HNI because it's my happy place.I love learning here, next year in year 8 i want to earn some badges, and not just 8 year 7 as well. To get badges you have to try hard. Learning isn't about getting things right all the time It's about making mistakes and learning from them and also having fun.
So today i will be talking to you about trampolines.A trampoline is a type of object you can jump on, do flips and round offs and you could even double bounce people. They are so fun to play on. There is even a place called flip out, Flip Out is a fun trampoline park located on 405 St Aubyn East Hastings. A Lot of people go there, it's a really popular place and I recommend you go there.
Trampolines are good exercise and great to have one in your backyard. According to scientists if you jump on a tramp for more than 10 minutes it's equivalent to 30 minutes of running. Trampolines are beneficial for you because you are exercising your body and keeping your health levels up.
Trampolines can also be dangerous because if you try do a flip but don't know how and fail you could break your neck or any of your bones. Also if you are at home on your trampoline and it doesn't have a net you could fall in the springs and graze yourself or fall of it and sprain your ankle also If there is a wall nearby you could injure your head.
They are also good to have because if a ball went on top of the roof
You could just jump and get it, you could jump in the pool
Or jump in leaves.
So get a tramp or go to flip out and start bouncing to a healthier you !

Healthy Bodies - Strong Minds
Weeks 7&8
Global Learning Intention: We are learning about being healthy.
BIG IDEA: By keeping physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually fit, we are holistically looking after our HAUORA, (Health).
Big Questions for learning weeks 7&8:
What is a stereotype and how can it affect the way I think about myself and others?
|
Authentic Contexts:
Stereotypes
The way different cultures see beauty
Positive body image
The effect of the media on self perception
Profile photos
Photos from google. Use these if you want.
- Pin the profile photos around the classroom. Divide students into eight groups and give each group several profile sheets from Copy Sheet: Profile. Allocate a starting photo for each group and allow them a set period of time to come up with a profile of that person. Each group then moves on to the next photo, until they have worked with all the photographs.
Completed profiles
Consider: How accurate were your profiles? avreeg
What sort of things did you make mistakes about? (Age, hobbies ...)we made mistakes of the age and the job
Why do you think your profiles weren’t always accurate?because i didn't like it
What information did you use to make your profiles? (The look of the person, what they were wearing, their culture, their age, what you think you know about people like that ...)
Is this a fair thing to do? Why or why not?
What should you do before you make decisions about what a person is like? (Really get to know them, find out about their personality, talk to them ...)
Create a list of the dangers of stereotyping people into categories.
